Meet the people behind Body DEXA Fit

We are a highly skilled team of medical radiation and health practitioners who are expertly qualified in the field of bone densitometry and body composition assessment using state of the art DEXA technology.

We are passionate about improving the health and well being of our clients. To facilitate this objective our dedicated Medical Radiation Practitioner (Diagnostic Radiographer) works in conjunction with our Radiologist (Medical Practitioner) who is responsible for the overall conduct of all DEXA procedures, interpretation of Bone densitometry.

We have also provided DEXA Body composition scans for a number of elite sporting teams including AFL/VFL and individual athletes referred by their sports physician.

Tony Eid (Body DEXA Fit team)
Tony Eid

Tony Eid is a Medical Radiation Practitioner – Diagnostic Radiographer.
He has also completed a Masters of Business Administration at Charles Stuart University and has ANZBMS qualification for bone densitometry. In addition Tony has completed a number of advanced Body composition courses. He is registered with the Australian Society of Medical imaging and radiation therapy and has qualifications as a personal trainer and Group Fitness Instructor throughout Australia. More recently Tony has become an accredited AFL Active trainer.

Tony has over 20 yrs experience as a Medical Radiation Practitioner responsible for Diagnostic Radiography.

Tony established Body DEXA fit in 2012 because he had a desire to utilise his comprehensive diagnostic radiography skills combined with his strong personal interest in the health and fitness to assist clients to achieve excellent health outcomes. He believes that through the use of the Hologic DEXA technology combined with technical expertise he can guide clients towards a better understanding of a variety of lifestyle factors including the impact of diet and exercise on body composition and overall health.

Tony also believes in the importance of building personal and committed relationships with clients, which will ultimately lead to positive health and behaviour changes.

Dr Janet Macintosh

Dr Macintosh is responsible for the overall conduct of all procedures (e.g. Bone densitometry and Body composition assessment) involving the exposure of clients to ionising radiation i.e. DEXA (Dual energy Xray Absorptiometry).

Janet’s medical qualifications include the following:

Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists, The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists, Australia
PhD (Anatomy) University of Queensland, 1988
